Breakfast Point Academy MathCounts Team Shines at Regional Competition

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — The Breakfast Point Academy MathCounts Team proudly represented their school at the Regional Chapter Competition held yesterday at Gulf Coast State College, earning top honors and advancing to the next level of competition.

Leading the way was Ben Faranda, who delivered an outstanding performance and placed 2nd overall in the competition. With this impressive finish, Ben has earned the opportunity to advance to the State Competition in March, where he will compete against the top math students from across Florida. His accomplishment reflects both his dedication to mathematical excellence and the countless hours of preparation leading up to the event.

In addition to Ben’s individual success, the Breakfast Point Academy team secured 3rd place overall in the regional competition. Team members Ben Faranda, Troy Arentz, Brayan Figueroa, and Zaine Khaja demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills, perseverance, and teamwork throughout the rigorous rounds of competition.

The team’s success is a testament to their commitment to academic excellence and the strong culture of achievement at Breakfast Point Academy. Competing at this level requires not only deep mathematical understanding but also confidence, focus, and resilience under pressure — qualities these students exemplified.

A special thank you goes to MathCounts Coach Mrs. Wright for her dedication, guidance, and countless hours of preparation. Her leadership and support played a vital role in the team’s success.

Congratulations to our outstanding MathCounts team on an incredible performance. We look forward to cheering on Ben at the State Competition in March!
