Our incredible Second Grade team kicked off the excitement yesterday for Get Your Teach On's (#GYTO) Rock Your School! Classrooms transformed into high-energy, immersive learning environments where engagement and hands-on discovery hit an all-time high. Check out what our amazing 2nd-grade classrooms have been up to:
🏀 Mrs. Noble's Math MVPs: Most Valuable Problem Solvers!
Students stepped onto the court as Math MVPs and put their problem-solving skills to the test! Working as a team, they tackled challenging math problems, explained their thinking, and used creative strategies to find solutions. Through teamwork, perseverance, and a little friendly competition, these MVPs scored big in math! 📊🔥
🤠 Miss Lashbrook’s Toy Story Squad
Andy’s Bedroom came to life for this year's adventure! Students put their ELA strategies and skills to work as they completed fun challenges to help Andy’s toys accomplish secret missions. Working together, our little toys-in-training proved that reading skills can take you anywhere—to proficiency and beyond! 🚀⭐
🐉 Mrs. Stewart's Dragon Trainers Academy
Our second graders leveled up to Dragon Trainers in training! They researched real-life “dragons,” hunted for words with sticky dragons, read to dragon buddies, hatched scrambled sentences from dragon eggs, trained their typing skills, and created custom shields. After graduating from the Academy, each student adopted their very own baby dragon! 🛡️🐲
🎪 Under the Big Top in Mrs. Faranda’s Class
Students grabbed their tickets to the Circus of Learning! They became historians exploring the history of the circus with primary and secondary sources, practiced double-digit addition with playing cards, and built math fluency with POP-corn math. They even clowned around with states of matter—testing their strength as “Strong Men,” trying out juggling, and braving the “Ring of Fire”! Truly the greatest show of all! 🍿🤡
🎃 Mrs. Stripling's Spooktacular Boys and Ghouls
Jack & Sally’s Spooktacular Math swept students into the world of The Nightmare Before Christmas! They tackled "scary" word problems and tricky math tasks using teamwork, bravery, and persistence. No math challenge was too spooky for these brave learners as they proved they had what it takes to conquer it all! 🕷️💜

📢 Middle School Families: The First 9 Weeks End Next Thursday, October 8th! 🗓️
Is your middle schooler struggling or feeling overwhelmed?
Middle school is a big transition, but building a few simple daily habits right now can make a huge difference before the quarter closes.
Here is how you can support your student and set them up for success:
🔹 5 Minutes a Day: Sit down together and review their daily assignments in Canvas.
🔹 Weekly Grade & Test Checks: Log into the Parent Portal and Canvas to check for missing assignments or upcoming assessments. Remind them to complete their study guides and/or Gimkits so they are fully prepared for test day!
🔹 Math Check-In: Remind them to complete their weekly ALEKS math lessons—even if they tell you, "I don't have any homework!"
🔹 Utilize STING Morning Time: If your student has missing assignments, remind them to visit that teacher during STING each morning until they are completely caught up.
Don't wait until the last minute—check now!
Holding them accountable and staying on top of their workload helps keep both you and your student stress-free.

Order your student’s fall portraits by Monday, October 19th to have them delivered directly back to the school.
Note: Orders placed after Oct. 19th will incur a late fee and will ship directly to your home.

Enter your child's 9-digit Student ID number as the online code. (This can be found in Focus or printed on the picture proof card).
